Artist Vũ Đức Hiếu is affectionately called Hiếu Mường by fellow creatives, for his long years of living among, engaging with, researching, and preserving the cultural traditions of the Mường people. The Museum of Mường Cultural Space, founded and nurtured by the artist himself, is a distinctive expression—imbued with the very “Nét Mường” of Vũ Đức Hiếu. In another artistic pursuit, Hiếu turns to ceramics—infusing into his works a “Nét Mường” that is at once tangible yet elusive, real yet evocative, familiar yet strange. His ceramics transcend the ordinary function of containment, reaching the threshold of fine art. The fascinating qualities of this “Nét Mường” are made present again in an exhibition that retells Mường stories—stories of wandering, of play, and of the artist’s journey alongside clay.

“Nét Mường” is intricately woven by artist Vũ Đức Hiếu into the very clay, glaze, and creative forms of ceramics, allowing the artist to naturally convey and share the beauty of Mường culture beyond its traditional boundaries.

“Nét Mường” is also the title of an exhibition that introduces stories of the Mường homeland through the heartfelt narratives embedded in the ceramic works of Vũ Đức Hiếu.
